Fuente de Piedra is a village with just over 2,500 inhabitants that most visitors completely overlook. They arrive, visit the lagoon and leave. We understand the logic, but if you have an extra 45 minutes before lunch or before continuing your journey, the historic centre has two specific places that are worth the detour.<\/span><\/p>\n

The first is the <\/span>Hermitage of Nuestra Se\u00f1ora de los Remedios<\/b>, which dates from the 16th century and has a square in front of it that is perfect for stopping for a drink after walking the trail. The second is the small natural viewpoint to the north of the village. It is located on a hill reached by following a dirt path for approximately 10 minutes from the main street, and it offers a view of the entire lagoon in the distance. It is not marked on any tourist map, has no sign and does not appear as a point of interest on Google Maps. However, the view from the top\u2014with the lagoon, village and mountains in the background\u2014is one of the most beautiful scenes in the area.<\/span><\/p>\n
